We are all enjoying the beautiful weather and getting outside
frequently. Julia loves going for bike rides down the street and
Corbin is happy to sleep in the stroller.

Good Sleeper
Corbin had been very good to his parents over the last few days. He now goes about 5 1/2 hours between feedings at night time, Julia didn't accomplish this feat until 2 months old. Thank you for the extra sleep, Corbin!
Hurst Family Farm
Today we went to a local farm to pick pumpkins, go on a hayride, and feed cows. Corbin slept through the entire event, but Julia had a great time. She was most fascinated with the 14 day old calf and kept telling the baby (in a high pitched 'mom' voice) how cute he was and trying to entice him to come close so she could pet him. (The calf was smart enough to stay far away from the 20 screaming 2 year olds).

Corbin Family
Corbin definitely takes after his daddy, I think (particularly in this photo) he looks just like John.
As a correction on an early post, Corbin is named after his great-great-great grandfather, William Eugene Corbin (I was off a generation in the earlier post) and his great grandfather, William Richardson Corbin.
Interestingly, John found a genealogy book on the Corbin family on google books, that talks about William Eugene and traces the Corbin family back to England.

Two Weeks Old
On Tuesday, Corbin had his two week doctors appointment. He has almost regained his birth weight at 8lbs 7 oz and is now 21 1/4 inches tall. We were finally given the OK by the doctor to stop waking him up at night to eat. I had visions of getting a long peaceful night of sleep, but Corbin had other plans. He typically has one stretch that he will sleep 3 1/2 to 4 hours and the rest of the night he will go 2 to 3 hours, which for being only 2 weeks old isn't too bad.

What's in a name?
Many people have asked me how we choose the name Corbin William Caruso. He is primarily named after his nana's side of the family and, in part, named after his maternal grandfather. John's mother's maiden name is Corbin, Ruth was an only child and naming one of her grandchildren Corbin seemed a great way to pass along the Corbin name.
Using William as a middle name, was a great way to honor several members of the family. My father is William Howard Rybolt, John's grandfather was William Richardson Corbin and his great grandfather was William Eugene Corbin.
Corbin doesn't yet realize the importance of his name, he is too worried about his first trip to the doctor for a weight check at 6 days old. He did 'fail' his first weight check dipping down as low as 7lbs 10 ounces, but finally at 10 days is starting to gain weight again.
