Big Eater

Julia is a very big eater, but while she likes to eat a lot of food, she is becoming more picky about the individual items she will actually eat. Like many toddlers, one day a food is in and the next the food is out (and thrown on the floor for the dog to eat).

John and I were having salmon burgers for dinner and Julia decided she wanted a bite, but that one bite turned into her stealing my entire burger.... see for yourselves in the video.

Big Girl

Julia is advancing to a full fledged toddler instead of my little baby girl, right before my eyes.
She turned 16 months old yesterday, she still doesn't verbalize much (aside from No, Hi, and tickle, tickle) but she now is up to almost 30 baby signs. Her current favorites are help, please, toothbrush, cat and dog.
Recently we took her to the mall to get her very first pair of sneakers. The sales clerk measured Julia's feet (5.5 wide!) and said "Hmm, we don't carry many shoes in her size, the only sneaker we have for her is a New Balance sneaker". I literally started laughing, because I also have weird feet and can only fit in New Balance sneakers. I was hoping she would get Caruso feet, but I guess she inherited the Rybolt foot ... sorry Julia. When she put the shoes on, she just stared at her feet and then took off running out of the store and through the mall. I chased after her, while John finished paying.
She loves her sneakers and insists on wearing them almost all the time, even with her foot pajamas.
Her hair is also finally long enough for pig tails.
Her biggest adventure is that she will soon be moving from the infant room to the toddler room at her daycare. They have a long transition time for the children, but honestly I think it will be more difficult for me than it is for her.
