This was a very exciting week for Julia, she went on her first official outing. I brought her to my vet practice to meet everyone at work. She and I both enjoyed getting out of the house for an adventure. I think she enjoyed meeting everyone, though she isn't going to remember much of it since she slept through the entire visit. While I didn't have newborn scrubs for her to wear, she was properly dressed showing her love of kitty cats. (Thanks for the outfit Linda and thank you for not stealing my baby, I was afraid if I turned my back you were going to run off with her!!)

In addition to going to Colchester Vet Hospital, this week Julia also went to the grocery store, the post office, 2 doctors appointments, and multiple walks with Franklin. One of the doctor's appointments was for a diaper rash that wasn't clearing up, when I called the pediatrician I was told to come in that day at 11am, I hung up and then realized that it was 10:38am, the doctors office is 10 minutes away, I was in my pajamas, and being a newbie mom it takes awhile to actually get out the door with a newborn. To my amazement I arrived at the pediatrician at exactly 11am, I still don't know how I actually got ready and out the door the fast. The second doctors appointment was for a ultrasound of Julia's hips. She isn't having any problems, it's a standard procedure for babies that are breech. Everything went well (though she screamed during the entire ultrasound and pooped and peed on the table when her diaper was partially off for the procedure), unfortunately her hips are still too immature to do a complete evaluation (which is not unusual considering her age and that she was born at 39 weeks) so we have to go back for a repeat ultrasound when she is 6 to 7 weeks old.
The most exciting news of the week is that Julia is starting to smile, it's hard to get a picture of her in the act, but here's a photo of a partial smile.
