Snow, Snow, and more Snow

We are having record snow fall in Connecticut and I'm ready to be done with the snow and winter isn't even close to being over. For the month of January we have had an all time record for the state of 4 feet, 11 inches. Yes you did hear me correctly, 4 feet, 11 inches in January alone! Unfortunately while Julia loves playing in the snow, there isn't much you can do when the snow is this deep.

Photos from January 27th, from a storm that we added about 15 inches. The pole sticking out of the snow with a snowman on it, has a yard stick on it and the snow is well above the yard stick.

Here's photos from January 12th when we got 27 inches of snow in about 12 hours.

Julia's 2nd Birthday

Julia had a wonderful 2nd Birthday Party. She liked to tell people that she was 3 or 5, but we kept trying to remind that she wants to stay a kid as long as possible!!

Julia also had her 2 year doctors appointment and I think we should start training her the NFL. She is 99th percentile for weight (38 pounds) and 99th percentile for height (36 inches tall).

Christmas in Glastonbury

We celebrated 'Rybolt Family Faux Christmas' on New Years Day and we are lucky enough that Santa actually made another trip to our house. Julia wasn't happy about leaving cookies out for Santa because she was very upset that she didn't get to eat the cookies and really couldn't understand why we were putting out cookies and milk.

At bedtime Ella and Julia snuggled together for books and we read "The Sweet Smell's of Christmas", which started as a tradition when Lisa and I spent Christmas at our Grandmother's house in Orlando as kids. When we all went to bed I warned Lisa that Julia occasionally wakes up around 5:30am, calls out for mama, then goes back to sleep on her own. This morning was no different except that the Cederbaum family woke up to Julia saying "Rob, Rob, Rob", she then fell back asleep but Lisa, Rob, Ella, and Jack were all now awake at 6am.

Christmas in Boston

With all the excitement of Christmas in Boston, Christmas in Glastonbury, 2 feet of snow, and Julia's Birthday, I'm a little behind on posts, but trying to catch up.

We spent Christmas in Hingham at Nana's house and had a great time with Julia's cousins, Taylor and Chase. Julia was very excited about Christmas, though she didn't really 'get it' until after opening all the presents. From her stocking by far her favorite gift was a package of silly bands. You'll notice she has all 20 on at one time.

She loved playing babies with her new baby gear.

and just snuggling with daddy.

We had a major snowstorm just after Christmas and we were trapped in the house for while, our first venture out was to the bowling alley. It was Julia's first time and she loved it.

Polar Express

Last week we took Julia on the Polar Express Train. We didn't really know how to explain to Julia what we were going to be doing, especially since she doesn't really get Santa. All I said is "Julia, we are going to go pick up your friend, go out for pizza, then go on a big choo, choo train, Santa will be on the train and he will give you a cookie." She yelled "YEAH and ran to the door to get her coat on.

Meeting Mrs. Claus

Meeting Santa Claus

Julia loved the train ride and just thinks of Santa as someone that brings cookies and hot chocolate. I guess she's in for a big surprise on christmas day (or a big disappointment if all she really wants is more cookies and hot chocolate!)

Happy Birthday to Zeta and Pearl

One of Julia's favorite songs is 'Happy Birthday', so she was ecstatic when we actually had a birthday party. We had a combined birthday party for Pearl (who turned 7) and Zeta (who turned 5). Julia made the dogs wear party hats, we sang Happy Birthday and best of all had cupcakes.

Thanksgiving

We had wonderful, warm Thanksgiving in sunny Florida. We travelled to Tampa to have Thanksgiving with Julia's Aunt Anne and Uncle Dave (or 'Dee') according to Julia. We got to meet Anne and Dave's new baby, Annabelle who was only a week old, though Julia was most impressed by her older cousin Sophia.

Sophia and Julia went back and forth reading every other stories, then suddenly Sophia tucked Julia into bed told her she was at "aftercare" and had to take a nap, and would be picked up at 6pm. She then turned off the lights and closed the door and Julia actually stayed in Sophia's toddler bed!! I'm hoping Sophia will come up North and put Julia to bed everyday!!
