Polar Express

Last week we took Julia on the Polar Express Train. We didn't really know how to explain to Julia what we were going to be doing, especially since she doesn't really get Santa. All I said is "Julia, we are going to go pick up your friend, go out for pizza, then go on a big choo, choo train, Santa will be on the train and he will give you a cookie." She yelled "YEAH and ran to the door to get her coat on.

Meeting Santa Claus

Julia loved the train ride and just thinks of Santa as someone that brings cookies and hot chocolate. I guess she's in for a big surprise on christmas day (or a big disappointment if all she really wants is more cookies and hot chocolate!)

Happy Birthday to Zeta and Pearl

One of Julia's favorite songs is 'Happy Birthday', so she was ecstatic when we actually had a birthday party. We had a combined birthday party for Pearl (who turned 7) and Zeta (who turned 5). Julia made the dogs wear party hats, we sang Happy Birthday and best of all had cupcakes.

Thanksgiving

We had wonderful, warm Thanksgiving in sunny Florida. We travelled to Tampa to have Thanksgiving with Julia's Aunt Anne and Uncle Dave (or 'Dee') according to Julia. We got to meet Anne and Dave's new baby, Annabelle who was only a week old, though Julia was most impressed by her older cousin Sophia.

Sophia and Julia went back and forth reading every other stories, then suddenly Sophia tucked Julia into bed told her she was at "aftercare" and had to take a nap, and would be picked up at 6pm. She then turned off the lights and closed the door and Julia actually stayed in Sophia's toddler bed!! I'm hoping Sophia will come up North and put Julia to bed everyday!!

Halloween

Halloween Party at Lisa and Robs. When else will you see Strawberry Shortcake, a construction worker, and an elephant together?

My MOMs Club went to a local retirement home with our kids dressed up in costumes and handed out pumpkins to the residents. For this occassion, Julia dressed up as a ballerina which everyone loved, except for Julia who wanted out of the itchy costume.

Anyone seen an elephant that escaped from the zoo?

Even More Fall Fun

My MOMs Club did our annual trip to the Hurst Family farm for a hayride, to feed goats and cows, pick pumpkins, and try hot apple cider. Julia was so excited to feed the cows until she got about 2 feet away from the cows, looked at them and then handed the food to me and said "Mama, mama" and took off for the sheep.

The fall festival's in New England never seem to end. Julia got to go on her first ride without adults at the Glastonbury Apple Festival. She had her big cousin to Ella to help her out, though as we should have guessed knowing my personality and my sister's personality as children, Julia followed in my footsteps and never looked for me and loved being 'on her own' immediately and Ella was a little nervous to be on her own. I think it was actually Julia who made Ella feel more comfortable .

Fall Fun

We've been having a lot of fun this fall. You can't beat picking apples:

Going on our annual trip to the Center Sandwich Fair in NH

Julia thought all the cotton candy was for her.

This was Julia's first ice cream cone, she immediately loved it, but she couldn't quite figure out how to lick the ice cream rather than bite the ice cream.
