Halloween

Halloween Party at Lisa and Robs. When else will you see Strawberry Shortcake, a construction worker, and an elephant together?

My MOMs Club went to a local retirement home with our kids dressed up in costumes and handed out pumpkins to the residents. For this occassion, Julia dressed up as a ballerina which everyone loved, except for Julia who wanted out of the itchy costume.

Anyone seen an elephant that escaped from the zoo?

Even More Fall Fun

My MOMs Club did our annual trip to the Hurst Family farm for a hayride, to feed goats and cows, pick pumpkins, and try hot apple cider. Julia was so excited to feed the cows until she got about 2 feet away from the cows, looked at them and then handed the food to me and said "Mama, mama" and took off for the sheep.

The fall festival's in New England never seem to end. Julia got to go on her first ride without adults at the Glastonbury Apple Festival. She had her big cousin to Ella to help her out, though as we should have guessed knowing my personality and my sister's personality as children, Julia followed in my footsteps and never looked for me and loved being 'on her own' immediately and Ella was a little nervous to be on her own. I think it was actually Julia who made Ella feel more comfortable .

Fall Fun

We've been having a lot of fun this fall. You can't beat picking apples:

Going on our annual trip to the Center Sandwich Fair in NH

Julia thought all the cotton candy was for her.

This was Julia's first ice cream cone, she immediately loved it, but she couldn't quite figure out how to lick the ice cream rather than bite the ice cream.

New Hair Style

According to Julia the new fall fashion involves lots of bows and only wearing one red rubber boot.

Julia was playing quietly by herself, but suddenly it was too quiet. This is how I found her, I'm still not sure if she was hiding, sleeping, or just being crazy.

Say Cheese

Julia's current favorite things are washing her hands, playing with her baby, and smiling and saying cheese when you get the camera out. She still does mostly signing, but is talking a lot more and finially started saying 'yeah' instead of a deep grunt for answering yes and says an adorable version of please that sounds more like "peas".

Fall is in full swing here in New England, Julia already loves her pumpkin and loves going to all the fall festivals around here where she can ride ponies, eat apple fritters, pick apples, and bounce in pumpkin shaped bouncy houses. Apple picking is a little more difficult than the blueberry picking we did during the summer, but at least she can't eat all the apples before we pay like she did with the blueberries.

Welcome Zeta

We have happily welcomed a new 4 legged fury friend to our family. Zeta, a 4 year old black lab, joined our family in mid-August and is fitting perfectly into the family. John and I are now officially a family of 8 (3 cats, 2 labs, 1 toddler, and 2 crazy parents)
