Birthday Party

Julia had an excellent birthday party celebration on Sunday with lots of family and friends. She looked especially grown-up in her dress hand made by my Aunt Alice.

1 year stats

Julia had her 1 year appointment which confirmed that she has been doing A LOT of growing. Her height is 30.5 inches (around the 80th percentile) and she was 24 pounds 2 ounces (around the 95th percentile). Just as a comparison she is the exact same height as Ella was at her 1 year appointment, but Julia weighs 3 pounds more.... my little chunky monkey.

Here's Julia trying out Ella's bike from Christmas at our house, she really can't wait to be one of the big girls.

The box

After all the Christmas presents were open and the 4 cousins had what seemed like thousands of brand new shiny toys, what did they all choose to play with?

An old cardboard box . . .

Christmas in Hingham

I know I'm a little behind but here are some photos of christmas at Nana's house in Hingham.

First we had to decorate the tree:

Julia loved being with all her cousins and watching them all do 'big kid stuff', she can't wait until she can run around with the rest of them.

Happy First Birthday!

I can't believe my little baby is one year old today!! She currently loves to climb up stairs (both crawling and holding onto the spindles and walking up the stairs sideways), pull everything out of the kitchen cabinents, stack toys, cruise on furniture (no first steps yet), and she just started using her baby signs for 'more' and 'all done'.

She had a great first birthday, 'letting' pearl sleep on her clean clothes, eating waffles, sledding, and opening up a few gifts. (We are saving her big birthday bash until her Grampa and Grammy Carole are back from Hawaii)

Julia got a sled for Christmas from Grampa and Grammy Carole that is specially made for little kids, with a seat back and buckle, so we no longer have to use pillows to prop her up. Since Julia can't walk yet, we don't have any snow boots and decided her comfy, warm bunny slippers would suffice.

Julia loves stacking items and eating, watch her try and combine her favorite pasttimes...

...christmas photos to follow soon!

New England Baby

This weekend we had a big snow storm and Julia got to experience snow for the first time (We never attempted to bring her out in the snow storms when she was only a few months old). John was more excited than ever to bring Julia out sledding, but was defininetly disappointed when I pointed out that we could pull her in a sled, but she, in fact, was to young to actually go true sledding. We weren't sure how it would work out, considering some kids don't even like being put in their snow suits.

At first we had some problems, because like Ralphy in "A Christmas Story" Julia had a difficult time moving in her snow suit, so she couldn't actually sit-up on her own in the sled. But after John held her up in the sled and then adding some comfy pillows, she loved her 'sledding' adventure.

Trouble

I guess John and I know what our next home 'project' has to be....
